Brands for Humanity

We are compiling a list of companies that oppose the civilian violence in Gaza and support an immediate ceasefire in the region.

It's time to demonstrate that there is room for humanity, integrity, and action based on these values in the business world.

In the past five months alone, at least 29,600 people have been killed in Gaza, with around 12,600 being children. Nearly 70,000 others have been wounded, and over 2 million people are in immediate danger.

Gaza is facing an acute shortage of essentials such as food, clean water, and medicine. UN Secretary-General Guterres has expressed concern about the situation in Gaza, and the International Court of Justice has ordered Israel to do everything possible to prevent genocide in Gaza. Action must be taken now while there are still lives to be saved. We cannot tolerate genocide.

Organizations must act in accordance with their values

Businesses have the power and opportunity to influence. We all remember how Finland reacted when Russia invaded Ukraine just two years ago. The colors of the Ukrainian flag still appear in the logos of companies' social media channels, and providing assistance and participating in fundraising efforts are taken for granted. Now, we can act in the same way and show compassion for the civilians in Gaza.

We demand transparency and hope that companies and other organizations will now realize that condemning the violence against civilians in Gaza is not complicated. Many companies mention responsibility in their value lists. Now is a good opportunity to show whether it's just empty talk or something that stands behind it. We hope that money won't become a more important value than human rights and saving lives.

During these months, several international organizations and entities, states, cultural actors, and individuals have come together to demand a ceasefire and an end to violence against civilians. Various actors in Finland have expressed their views openly. For the first time, we want to enable a collective public statement for companies and other organizations. With companies' statements, we create pressure on decision-makers to act justly.
